Ainkawa is the Christian historical suburb of Erbil city, capital of Iraqi Kurdistan.

Intense humanitarian activities are currently taking place in the region to assist hundred thousands of Syrian refugees and internally displaced Iraqian people fleeing the conflict areas.

Mapping accurately this area will support an improved data collection system and city mapping in Iraq. Moreover it will help to get OSM project further known locally.

When saving your work, please leave the default comment but add what you actually mapped, for example "added buildings and a residential road".

Bing imagery is available for the whole area of this TM job. No offset needed in this case, please align everything on Bing.

Please map:

All the buildings, streets and visible green spaces should be mapped. Be careful with high buildings: polygons can be traced using the roofs but then need to be shifted to fit with the building bases. Many buildings are terraced houses, which means that they should share at least 2 nodes with joined neighbours.

If adding missing residential areas (or any other type of landuse), trace them accurately, close to the buildings, without attaching them neither to the street nodes, nor to the buildings nodes.

Contributors with previous experience in urban mapping are particularly welcome to support others' work, review and validate this task.
