The U.S. Department of State's Humanitarian Information Unit (HIU) has made available pre-disaster imagery from Digital Globe through the NextView License.

Use new satellite imagery to trace buildings, infrastructure, areas, natural features and other important visible features of the city of Ormoc. Ormoc was devastated by Typhoon Haiyan and has gone largely unmapped to date.

Because this is pre-disaster imagery we are not doing damage assessments from this image so do not tag buildings with damage tags for this task, only map new features.

Download the NextView imagery to trace this task by enabling "Remote Control" in JOSM and clicking on the link (or setting up a custom layer in iD). You will need to accept the NextView License. Please understand the following:

This tiled map service (TMS) contain pre-Typhoon Haiyan imagery over the area surrounding Ormoc City, Philippines, and is composed of one satellite image taken in September 2010. The image is from DigitalGlobe's WorldView-2 satellite, and has been pan-sharpened to increase interpretability and ortho-rectified for terrain corrected geographic precision. No contrast stretch has been applied to the imagery. The image is over 2GB in size.

OSM Workflow:

Same as other Haiyan tracing tasks

Please add the following source tag to the objects you modify based on the NextView imagery.

source=WorldView-2,DigitalGlobe,Nextview,2010/09

Because this is pre-disaster imagery we are not doing damage assessments from this image so do not tag buildings with damage tags for this task, only map new features.
