Clinton Health Access Initiative is supporting the National Malaria program in Honduras to end malaria by 2020. Last year Honduras reported approximately 3,500 cases, down from nearly 10,000 in 2010. Still, Honduras reports the second highest number of cases across Central America. Honduras plans to reach this goal by strengthening surveillance, improving case management, and targeting vector control interventions.

By tracing buildings, you will help the malaria program to better understand settlement patterns, estimate the number of households in a village, respond to outbreaks, target interventions, and better plan for vector control operations on the ground.

The Missing Maps project aims to map the most vulnerable places in the world (affected by humanitarian crises: disease epidemics, conflict, natural disasters, poverty, environmental crises). Building on HOT's disaster preparedness projects, the Missing Maps tasks facilitate pre-emptive mapping of priority countries to better facilitate disaster response, medical activities and resource allocation when crises occur.
