Dense urban environment - more suitable for mappers with some experience.
- Author: Missing Maps / HOT
- Requesting organization: MSF
MSF teams in this area of Port-au-Prince are addressing threats of dengue, chikungunya, cholera and zika and the project is in need of geographic data for several components, including water and sanitation activities (spraying, larviciding, fumigation in order to kill mosquitoes and larva), identification of larva sites in streets and at community level, entomologic surveillance, health promotion to sensitise and inform local people and cholera surveillance.
The maps produced will support decision making processes, support population estimates and serve to communicate and plan activities.
The Missing Maps project aims to map the most vulnerable places in the world (affected by humanitarian crises: disease epidemics, conflict, natural disasters, poverty, environmental crises). Building on HOT's disaster preparedness projects, the Missing Maps tasks facilitate pre-emptive mapping of priority countries to better facilitate disaster response, medical activities and resource allocation when crises occur.

- #MissingMaps #hotosm-project-2359 Port-au-Prince, #Haiti Adding #buildings with bing When saving your work, please leave the default comment but add what you actually mapped, for example "added buildings and a residential road".
Please click on a square to start mapping. Feel free to split the squares as they are quite large.
Use Bing imagery for this project.
Simply digitise the outline of all buildings in each square and make sure you either SQUARE (shortcut key = 'S' in iD or Q in JOSM) the corners of square/rectangular buildings OR ROUND OFF/CIRCLE (shortcut key = 'O' in iD editor) any huts.
Then tag as building=building (in iD) or building=yes (in JOSM).
If the building is being constructed, please map it as you would any other building.
Please do not delete any other data from this area if you do not know what it is.
