MSF teams are fighting an epidemic of yellow fever in Kinshasa, DRC. This involves two major activities. One is a massive vaccination of 3 health zones (Byiela, Kikimi and Kingasani), including multiple vaccination sites, access planning, monitoring and mapping.
The second activity is the fumigation / destruction of mosquito larvae and eggs (as mosquitos spread the disease). This involves a strong spatial element because fumigation needs to take place within 100m of each confirmed yellow fever case. Mapping will go a long way to facilitate all of this work.
The Missing Maps project aims to map the most vulnerable places in the world (affected by humanitarian crises: disease epidemics, conflict, natural disasters, poverty, environmental crises). Building on HOT's disaster preparedness projects, the Missing Maps tasks facilitate pre-emptive mapping of priority countries to better facilitate disaster response, medical activities and resource allocation when crises occur.

Please click on a square to start mapping. The priority area is the north of this zone, so please choose squares in the north, first!
Please switch between both Bing and MapBox imagery for this project. They are both available and checking both will improve accuracy. You can switch between the two last used images in iD easily by using CTRL-B.
Simply digitise the outline of all buildings in each square and make sure you either SQUARE (shortcut key = 'S' in iD editor & 'Q' in JOSM) the corners of square/rectangular buildings OR ROUND OFF/CIRCLE (shortcut key = 'O' in iD editor) any huts.
The roads are mapped already, but you may need to align some to the imagery, so that they do not intersect the buildings. Just do this by dragging the nodes onto where you see the roads and paths.
Tag all buildings as building=building (in iD) or building=yes (in JOSM).
There is a good video on how to map buildings here, if you are new to editing OSM.
If you see a building that looks like it is incomplete (roof missing for example), please still tag it as a building.
Please do not delete any other data from this area if you do not know what it is.
