Only for experienced JOSM mappers
An earthquake of magnitude 7.8 hit the coastal region of Ecuador on April, 16th at 23:58 UTC. This major event was followed by several shocks (http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/map). The tasks consists on drawing roads, towns, villages, for coordinating help efforts from government institutions and civil society initiatives of rescue. Infrastructure has been damaged and the main access roads are blocked, leaving coastal towns disconnected from rescue efforts.

Before starting with tracing in this project, is widely suggested read previously Ecuador damages tags
1. Mapping damaged buildings
An assessment of damage to buildings, verifying the degree of involvement evidenced in post-event images. Once located the damage makes the comparison with the pre-event images to confirm the damage (ie, undamaged before, after the earthquake damaged or destroyed. NOTE: a list of all imagery avaible is in the task instructions. OSM data is aligned with pre-event image #1). Trace the polygon of the building using JOSM plugin 'building tool' or trace an orthogonal polygon and add the tag:
building = yes
If the building is already mapped, skip the previous step and go to the next. Depending on the level of damage observed add the label:
destroyed value if you observe a total damage like this:
Or use the value
damaged, if the damage is partially observed as shown in the image below:
Add tags to the image date:
And the source of the image post-event from which showed the damage:
source:damage:imagery=[UAVs - University of Cuenca; Satellite - Pleiades; Ortho - IGM; ...]
Finally relates the object with the earthquake adding this tag:
2. Temporary shelters
Map temporary shelters that are evident in the photo, differentiating whether organized or spontaneous one. Draw a polygon on the area of the shelter, if an organized camp (as shown in the picture)
use the following tag:
If it is a spontaneous camp (as shown in the picture):
use the following tag:
To identify the camp on maps (as Mapnik) add a node in the center of the polygon with the label:
Finally, relating the object with the earthquake:
