-Task for Mapathon at NOHA
- Author: Missing Maps
- Requesting organization: MSF
- Priority: Low
To conduct effective epidemiology and medical interventions, building level data is needed, and a lot of villages in the area around Mwenge are lacking in this area. Please help us complete the tracing of buildings, so that the data can be used by MSF teams.
This area of Katanga has been identified by the MSF Katanga Emergency Response Unit as a priority area for a nutrition intervention in the coming days.
The Missing Maps project aims to map the most vulnerable places in the world (affected by humanitarian crises: disease epidemics, conflict, natural disasters, poverty, environmental crises). Building on HOT's disaster preparedness projects, the Missing Maps tasks facilitate pre-emptive mapping of priority countries to better facilitate disaster response, medical activities and resource allocation when crises occur.

Please click on a square to start mapping.
Use Bing imagery for this project.
Simply digitise the outline of all buildings in each square and make sure you either SQUARE (shortcut key = 'S' in iD editor) the corners of square/rectangular buildings OR ROUND OFF/CIRCLE (shortcut key = 'O' in iD editor) any huts.
Then tag as building=building (in iD) or building=yes (in JOSM).
There is a good video on how to map buildings here, if you are new to editing OSM.
If you see a building that looks like it is incomplete (roof missing for example), please still tag it as a building.
Please do not delete any other data from this area if you do not know what it is.
