Please trace all residencial areas, buildings and roads. Orhoimagery provided by SigTIERRAS - MAGAP (Ecuador) served trough openstreetmap.fr (first load could be slow, this meanwhile it load into cache)

If you find any existing element misaligned, please re-align using the provided imagery.

It might be that your task is located at some non populated area, please look carefully for isolated buildings and roads.

Detailed instructions for tracing elements can be found at:

Commonly used tags

Areas composed of more than two houses. Trace a boundary around the buildings and tag it with :

landuse=residential

Road tags:

highway=primary Primary roads connect medium and large cities, at least two lanes in each direction, usually separated by a physical feature.
highway=secondary Secondary roads connect medium and large cities, at least two lanes in each direction without physical separation.
highway=tertiary Tertiary roads connect villages and major streets in towns of some importance
highway=unclassified minor roads is used for roads connecting villages and hamlets
highway=residential is used for for roads within a town or village

In addition to using the highway tag, one can indicate the physical surface of the road with the surface tag:

surface = *

Generically, a hard surface (asphalt, cobblestone, concrete...) is indicated with surface=paved and a soft one (ground, sand...) with surface=unpaved.

Buildings:

building=building (in iD)
building=yes (in JOSM)

Please make sure you trace the buildings accurately. Corners can be automatically made right angles by using the S key (in iD) or the Q key (in JOSM).
