JOSM Validator should be run each time a tile is selected
The goal is is accurate and complete data with as few errors as possible
The basemap is completed for the #MapLesotho project. This task forms part of a collection of 11 new tasks (10 districts, 1 city) to move the mapping from a national to a local district level.
Completion of this task will result in 100% coverage for all roads, waterways and buildings with all features being accurately mapped to ensure a high level of quality. An important element of this task requires that JOSM validator is run each time a tile is selected to correct errors from previous mapping attempts.Created by DaCor - Updated - Priority: medium
OSM Tasking Manager is a mapping tool designed and built for the Humanitarian OSM Team collaborative mapping. The purpose of the tool is to divide up a mapping job into smaller tasks that can be completed rapidly. It shows which areas need to be mapped and which areas need the mapping validated.
This approach facilitates the distribution of tasks to the various mappers in a context of emergency. It also permits control of the progress and the homogeneity of the work done (e.g. elements to cover, specific tags to use, etc.).
Just jump over to OpenStreetMap, create an account, and then visit the LearnOSM tutorials on the Tasking Manager and the iD editor. Alternatively check out the MapGive website which also provides information on the Tasking Manager and mapping. Once you have read up on how to map, come back here to help map for people on the ground!
If you have any questions about a project, a task or mapping in general please ask on our mailing list: HOT E-Mail List.
